74,000 square feet with 75 assisted living apartments and 25 secure memory care suites, located at 4356 W. Ashlan Avenue in Fresno, CA.
UNIQUE ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN FEATURES
Interior and exterior design inspired by Yosemite and the Arts & Crafts movement. Use of universal design concepts makes all rooms easily accessible by wheelchair. Architect, Douglas Pancake, is nationally known for innovative design of senior living communities.
ART COLLECTION
World-renowned photographers Galen Rowell and Ansel Adams grace the walls of Paintbrush. The art collection also includes art and photography that has been hand-selected for its connection to Fresno and the surrounding area. Local artists and photographers also featured.
LIBRARY
The Paintbrush Library includes books that have been personally selected by Jim and Ruth Wagner, members of the ownership group, to celebrate the history and culture of the Central Valley.
FAMILY OWNERSHIP
Paintbrush is a family-owned enterprise. Members of the Paintbrush ownership group include Luanne Silkwood, Frank Bigelow, Kristi and Frank Mattes and Matt Boos. The owners have deep roots in the local business community. Most of them were born and raised here in Fresno. Each of them is personally involved in the development, design and culture of Paintbrush Assisted Living and Memory Care.
FRESH AND DELICIOUS MENUS
Food is central to the Paintbrush experience. The daily menus include meat, fruit, vegetables and dairy products produced locally. Chef Emery Bish is tailoring the menus to the tastes of the Central Valley. Think of your favorite dishes growing up and then add lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. And donʼt forget some delicious desserts.
PET FRIENDLY
At Paintbrush, pets are a welcome part of the community. Dogs “Sydney” and “Precious” have already moved in!
CREATIVE CARE PROGRAMS
All Paintbrush team members go through a specialized culture-training program designed to promote creativity, compassion and a positive attitude. These values are the foundation of the care programs, all of which are specially designed to enrich the lives of Paintbrush residents.
ASSISTED LIVING
75 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Assisted Living includes all meals, life enrichment programs, social outings and levels of care depending on each residentʼs needs.
MEMORY CARE
25 private and shared suites are dedicated to Memory Care at Paintbrush. In addition to meal service and life enrichment programs, these secured suites have extra staff and specialized programs for residents who are living with some form of dementia and Alzheimerʼs-specific needs.
