Caregiving for an elderly relative has become an increasingly visible issue for many families. And families in Fresno are no exception.
Spouses and adult children spend more and more time arranging for doctor’s appointments, helping with daily chores and physically assisting their loved ones when they need help getting up and around.
This can lead to physical and emotional exhaustion as well as mental stress.
Recently, in conjunction with the Valley Caregivers Resource Center, Paintbrush Assisted Living and Memory Care sponsored a “Caring for the Caregiver” event that addressed the issues facing caregivers and the solutions for better care for the caregiver.
The event included 10-minute massages for the caregivers as Paintbrush’s way of giving back to those who do so much for the elderly.
